QVC, HSN parent company brings live stream shopping to Samsung Smart TVs
Streaming services QVC and HSN are accessible via a new connected platform.
Multi-platform video commerce provider Quarate Retail Inc. launches its interactive streaming shopping service for its QVC and HSN banners on Samsung Smart TVs. The service combines live, on-demand, and streaming-only content into one fully purchasable app.
The QVC+ and HSN+ app is currently the only shopping app on the Samsung Smart TV platform that allows viewers to complete purchases within the app and combines multiple channels of live content with video-on-demand.
Samsung Smart TV users can log into their QVC or HSN account to learn about products and complete purchases, all within the Samsung Smart TV app. Buyers can access the streaming service QVC+ and HSN+ in the App Store with their remote control. To make it easier for users to access the streaming app, the app will be placed in the App Store preview on the Samsung Smart TV homepage for a period of three months.
QVC+ and HSN+ bring live, on-demand and streaming-only content together in one fully purchasable app. The streaming service combines QVC and HSN’s five linear channels (QVC, QVC2, QVC3, HSN and HSN2) with three all-digital linear channels and approximately 20 original streaming-only shows.
Streaming-only shows include exclusive deal drops, documentary-style deep dives on specific brands and celebrities, and culinary programs. Digital-only linear channels include fashion, culinary and Spanish offerings.
The QVC+ and HSN+ streaming offering is part of vCommerce Ventures, a recently formed business unit designed to accelerate Qurate Retail Group’s commitment to live streaming digital shopping beyond the traditional multi-platform experiences of QVC and HSN.
According to Quarate Retail Group, this offering reflects an ongoing strategic initiative to expand the reach of its channels and streaming offering across new media and digital platforms, including over-the-top devices and services, shoppable apps, social Media, digital over-the-air networks, mobile apps and websites.
In June 2022, Qurate Retail launched a web version of its interactive streaming shopping service for its QVC and HSN banners. The QVC+ and HSN+ streaming experience is available to approximately 120 million connected US homes and across several popular streaming platforms.
QVC cooperates with FuboTV
QVC too recently launched the first live stream shopping channel on FuboTV. QVC offers 20 hours of live video commerce programming daily (and four hours of recorded content), with premium brands and new products showcased by celebrities and other personalities engaging with customers in real-time across multiple platforms.
FuboTV, which has 1.06 million subscribers in North America as of Q1 2022, is available on most connected and smart TVs, game consoles, mobile apps, tablets and the web. As a result, QVC now reaches almost 95% of homes with live streaming digital TV in the United States
