Minnesota vs. Michigan State TV Guide: Start Time, Live Stream, TV Channel, Odds for NCAA Football Match
The Michigan State Spartans return to Spartan Stadium to open Big Ten play while the Minnesota Golden Gophers visit East Lansing for the first time since 2013. The teams were originally scheduled to meet at Spartan Stadium in 2020 before the shortened season canceled the matchup. As a result, the last meeting was held in Minneapolis in 2017.
Michigan State and Minnesota will meet for the 48th time ever, but only the second time since the Legends and Leaders divisions were dissolved. It should mark the start of a six-year streak, as the Spartans just wrapped up against Northwestern in the 2021 season.
However, this seems unlikely as the Big Ten is set to expand again. Hopefully there won’t be a nine-year hiatus between visits from the Golden Gophers as a result of expansion and pandemics.
Head coach PJ Fleck will be a familiar face in an otherwise unfamiliar series due to a hiatus. Fleck appeared twice as Western Michigan’s head coach and again in his first season at the helm in Minneapolis in 2017 against Michigan State.
